Greg Young, Chairman
Greg is currently working at The Department of State . A graduate of George Mason University , he has been actively maintaining local trails and waterways since 1993. Being an avid kayaker and mountain cyclist, he recognized the need to repair and restore the local environment. He felt the best way to accomplish his goal was to share the environment with people who are often not exposed to it. He along with several friends saw a need to form a grass roots organization that would put rubber to the road, thus the Vienna Yacht Club was born.

Brian Ladd, Vice-Chairman
Since graduating from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in 2000, with a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in 3-D Computer Animation, Brian has been working for MITRE/CAASD. A not-for-profit company that works for the FAA, Brian creates multimedia projects and websites. Kayaking triggered his interest in the many local parks and rivers that are available to the public. Along with the other founders of the VYC he saw the need for an organization that not only helps the environment, but also creates a network of people that are involved in outdoor activities.

Darren Chesser, Treasurer
Darren Chesser currently owns an employee benefits consulting firm and serves as Vice President of Assent Insurance , a large Mid-Atlantic Insurance Brokerage. Prior to this Darren served as a Senior Consultant for Deloitte & Touche as a member of their National Tax Consulting Practice. Since moving to this area more than two years ago, Darren has been involved in river clean up efforts throughout the Potomac Watershed. Along with the other founding members, Darren saw the opportunity to establish an organization dedicated educating the public about the many recreational activities the Potomac River and its tributaries provide.
